Cowcatcher's Sunday

Today we visited a new church out in the country. Bulverde Baptist Church. After the church services we found this nifty little steakhouse. It was a working cattle ranch. So the girls and I got to pet the horses and feed the longhorns, while nelson was talking to the restaurant owner. Now the girls are convinced they need some horses.

Guatemala

I just thought I would share a small sample of about 600 pictures we have from our family mission trip to Guatemala. We had such an amazing trip we all wanted to stay. God is doing so much it was so unbelievable. We were able to see so many of the kids from last year. To have them remember us just warmed my heart. We have such a love for the Guatemalan people and our team down there and pray that God allows us to return.

Today is a new day!

Well things are beginning to clam down in the Poorman household. The girls are trying to get back into a school routine. Homework is a much dreaded afternoon activity. We will be closing on our house tomorrow in The Woodlands. I am anxious to get that behind us. God was so faithful in selling it in a timely manner. I am still amazed how he worked out ALL the MANY details. Madeline still needs your prayers she is finding moving to a new school quite an adjustment. She is so beautiful I told her all the kids must just be intimidated by her and that is why they are not just running up to meet her. She will be fine but according to her it is the end of the world. Life lessons are hard and my prayer is that she continues to seek Jesus in her struggle. I am confident he will be with her. Peyton is adjusting to the small town school life. She seems to really be in her element. She says she is the only person with the name Peyton and that thrills her.

The First Day of School

The first day of school was quite an adventure for Peyton the class sizes are so much smaller than she is accustomed to as well as the school . She is excited to be in a smaller school and has made many friends from her dance team. She is worried about learning 5 dances before Sept.12 but I am not. She will do just fine. Madeline's(that is what she wants to be called now) day on the other hand was full of disappointment and feeling left out. She is concerned about having to run 3 miles a day in basketball but is willing to struggle through. As a mom I was surprised by her day. She is usually so happy and confident and rarely lets things bother her. I am praying daily for her to listen to God's still voice. He has a purpose and a plan for at that school and she will soon find it. We hurried to buy school supplies and new running shoes for Madeline. The day ended with a great dinner surrounded by family. The best kind!!

The Move

We are getting all settled into our new house in San Antonio. This move was relatively easy compared to the others. The kids started new schools today and we are anxiously waiting for their return. Peyton was very anxious about finding all her classes and getting her schedule. Paige was her usual confident self but worried about the dreaded lunch time. Mom and Dad are here visiting and helping us get settled into a new town. It is so nice to see familiar faces. Mom has graciously once again helped me arrange and hang all my pictures. We love having them here.
